The Coordinator, Fitness Specialist is responsible for both day to day and long-term implementation of fitness programing at Tamarac, The Center for Health and Well-Being. Will assess member's fitness needs, develop an appropriate personalized fitness and healthy lifestyle plan and advocate, guide, and assist them in achieving their goals. The Fitness Specialist will also participate/lead special programs, events, classes and provide overall staff coverage for the fitness areas. Will work with others within Tamarac and SHGM to organize, operate and retain special programs in the fitness area for all members. Fitness Specialists with their degrees and certifications will also be well-qualified to serve as certified personal trainers and group fitness instructors to provide a medically based program specifically needed for the Medical Fitness Association certification.
Experience - Skills/knowledge/abilities typically gained in less than two years experience in a high volume health and fitness facility (which incorporated the use of technology)
Licenses - ACE, AFAA, or ACSM in exercise specialist and/or fitness testing and implementation
Personal Training Certification from ACSM, NASM, or NSCA as a certified personal trainer, exercise specialist and/or related certification- Within 30 Days of Hire
