Assistant Superintendent of North Columbus Water Resource Facility
Supervises and leads in the operation and maintenance of the Water Treatment Facilities including but not limited to: water treatment, water supply, pumps, motors, motor starters, filtration, hydraulic systems, chemical feed systems, electrical systems, SCADA systems, sedimentation basins, solids handling press operations & drying beds, potable wells & equipment booster pump stations, water tanks, and other related processes. Plans, directs, staffs, monitors, and coordinates all aspects of water. Conducts training and education of plant staff in water treatment process and maintenance techniques. Develops SOPs for equipment or processes. Plans and coordinates plant staff and maintenance work schedules. High School Diploma or GED required. Associate Degree in engineering or environmental science is preferred. A minimum of seven (7) years of experience in the operation and maintenance of water/wastewater treatment facilities and five (5) years of water treatment plant management and supervisory experience required in facilities with treatment capacities greater than or equal to 4 MGD. Any combination of education, experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities will be considered. A Class "I" Water Operator's certificate issued by the Georgia State Board of Examiners for certification of Water and Wastewater Operators and Laboratory Analysis is required within one year of employment. Thorough knowledge of computers and SCADA system required. Possession of a valid driver's license and a good driving record required.
