NorthMarq Capital is seeking a Loan Portfolio Advisor to provide commercial real estate investment analysis and management for assets in the loan servicing portfolio, primarily related to consent requests and troubled loans. This position requires direct dealing with NorthMarq servicing loan portfolio management and regional office staff to provide expertise with commercial property underwriting, and to coordinate consent request services to our lender customers. The training and mentoring of current portfolio management staff is also required. Additional responsibilities may be added to adapt to company growth.
Organization: Responsible for coordinating underwriting and asset management services for consent requests relative to major loan events and for troubled loans.
Planning: Plans and schedules own workload to most efficiently provide commercial real estate research and analysis services.
Execution and Direction:
- Oversight of Post-Closing Consent Process:
Manage, review and approve consent requests on behalf of the Portfolio Management department, which includes, but is not limited to assumptions, lease reviews, condemnations/easements, and modifications.
Coordinate lockbox set-up with third party banks or vendors for pre and post-closing transactions.
- Underwriting Services for Loans:
Prepare or review write-ups in compliance with company guidelines and lender requirements. These write-ups include narrative analysis of the borrower, deal structure, property, location, and market.
Review formal third-party reports and comment on the quality and adequacy of the conclusions set forth therein.
Review and analyze credit reports and financial statements. Review determinations of environmental status, flood plain designation and other pertinent underwriting criteria.
Review loan consent requests for accuracy and completeness.
Provide lender customers with thoughtful analysis regarding the valuation of their loan collateral.
- Relationship Management:
Develop and maintain professional relationships with regional office staff, borrowers, and lenders. Demonstrate exceptional customer service, communication, and professionalism with each interaction.
- Training/Knowledge Base:
Develop and train Servicing department Loan Portfolio Analysts, both one-on-on and in classroom settings. Serve as a mentor and a resource of technical knowledge/credit skills. Presentation and communication skills must be articulate, professional and informative.
- Quality Assurance:
- Review the work product of regional office servicing functions, including annual inspections, lender portfolio appraisals, and routine regional office servicing duties. Review the work product of Servicing Department staff to ensure quality.
