TAYLOR COUNTY FORESTRY AND RECREATION ASSISTANT ADMINISTRATOR
Taylor County is seeking a full-time Forestry and Recreation Assistant Administrator.
Duties include assisting in administering the county forest timber program and forest silviculture management plans, conducting regular compartment and stand level inventory utilizing the Wisconsin Forest Inventory and Reporting System (WisFIRS), maintaining county forest roads and dams, snowmobile/ATV/UTV programs, wildlife habitat management and other recreational trail operations.Other responsibilities include using GIS (ArcMap) and GPS technologies to collect and display forest data.
Applicants for this position must possess a Bachelor of Science Degree in Forestry from an SAF accredited University or College of Forestry. Knowledge of silviculture, dendrology, mensuration, tree physiology, forest entomology and forest pathology with an emphasis on Upper Great Lakes forest types, as well as, one to two years of forestry experience is preferred. We are looking for a highly motivated team player with a drive for success and a desire to make a lasting contribution to the Taylor County Forest. A valid driver's license is required.
