Manager Pharmacy Support Manager Full Time Desert Regional Medical Center GENERAL DUTIES:The Manager of Pharmacy Support Services will assist with the promotion and delivery of quality, safe, rational and effective pharmaceutical services to the patients, and health care practitioners of DesertRegional Medical Center. Demographic information, limited Patient Health Information related to job function. Uses critical thinking skills and exercises independent decision-making as needed for the provision of safe and rational medication therapy.DEPARTMENT SPECIFIC DUTIES: 1. Supports pharmacy operations in accordance with all applicable regulations and upholds pharmacy policy/procedures as appropriate2. Provides oversight for an accurately and efficient drug distribution process.3. Establishes and maintains professional relationships with colleagues, physicians and other care providers.4. Supports the Director in developing technical department operations and assures responsibility for professional development.5. Establishes standards/norms for technician support and evaluates opportunities that improve patient outcomes.6. Demonstrates independent leadership and professionalism.7. Plans, develops and maintains policies and procedures for programs that optimize the ability of technicians to positively impact patient outcomes.8. Facilitates processes that maintain a dynamic medication formulary process, safe drug supply with equivalent drug distribution systems.9. Ensures operational compliance with all regulatory agencies.10. Collaborates with Director to ensure a fiscally responsible operational strategy for medication procurement, storage and distribution.11. Consistently able to support processes necessary to assist in the delivery of safe, rational, and cost-effective drug therapy12. The TECH assists in the coordination of department operations and assures responsibility for technical support services.13. Supervises the coordination of employee activities thus helping streamline department work flow and dynamics.14. Assists in maintaining compliance with state and federal laws, and other regulatory agencies.15. Oversees inventory management and controlled substance reconciliation.16. Acts as a direct liaison between employees and department leaders/hospital administrators, and communicates pertinent information to the pharmacy staff.17. Oversees the management of department personnel, conducts employee reviews, initiates disciplinary actions, ensures technician competency, monitors staff for health and safety requirements, and maintains accurate PAF’s.18. Assists in the management of financial resources, inventory control, employee services, and compliance with budgetary projections and/or constraints.
