The City of Eugene is seeking a seasoned Limited Duration Human Resources Generalist to join our team. This Human Resources Generalist position will work as part of the collaborative and innovative Human Resources Division, contributing to the delivery of comprehensive HR services for the City's dynamic public service environment. Areas of focus will include Employee Relations, ADA, Classification and Compensation and Recruitment & Selection with some additional work in other HR functional areas anticipated. This position will be a resource in all areas of HR, and will provide focused support to the Police Department and the Library, Recreation, and Cultural Services Department. It is anticipated that the duration of this assignment will be approximately one year.

Annual Salary Range: $55,369.60 - $71,614.40

Examples of Duties Performed - Duties may include but are not limited to the following:
- Serve as a resource for supervisors and management seeking advice and guidance regarding legal, contractual, policy and past practice aspects of employee and labor relations issues.
- Provide guidance to managers and supervisors on performance management, disciplinary and grievance issues.
- Works directly with employees and supervisors to manage ADA interactive processes
- Provide consultation related to recruitment and selection processes and ensures their validity, legality, and the consideration of EEO/affirmative action and Veteran's Preference.
- Provide training on human resources topics to employees and supervisors.
- Provide consultation in the area of organizational development to increase effectiveness and efficiency of department functions.
- Participate in the development and implementation of recruitment outreach strategies.

Experience and Training Guidelines
Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying.
Some recent, related professional experience or one year related responsible paraprofessional experience in human resources or a related field.
Equivalent to a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Human Resources, Public or Business Administration, Psychology, or a related field. Additional qualifying professional level experience may be substituted for the educational requirement.
Limited Duration Employees
Limited Duration Employees are those hired for the limited time period specified in this posting. Limited Duration employees are at-will employees and they do not have a probationary period. Limited duration employees have many of the same benefits as regular employees, although there are a few exceptions due to the limited length of employment. Non-Represented limited duration employees will receive City health plan coverage.

Upon eligibility, the City will contribute an employee contribution of 6%, as well as the employer contribution, to a retirement program administered by the Oregon Public Employees' Retirement System (PERS).
