We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that produces successful, high-traffic podcasts. We need a salesperson to sell sponsorships for the programs. The position requires listening to a set of other podcasts in the same space to learn what companies are advertising on them, then contacting those companies directly about buying sponsorships for our show.
Although there are many intermediary companies that broker podcast ads, our nonprofit status makes that difficult. The ads have to be worded a bit differently as sponsorships, not as ads, to maintain our tax-free status. Sponsoring our programming introduces an additional value proposition to the advertiser, because it elevates the level of their involvement to a charitable activity. It also makes their sponsorship tax-deductible for them, which is a huge bonus.
All leads you find in the other podcasts are already pre-qualified since they are already spending money, but not yet gaining the additional advantage of sponsoring a nonprofit. Pay is commission only, 15% on all sales.
Skeptoid Media is a STEM-focused 501(c)(3) public charity, producing entertaining print and web media for the general public and freely downloadable educational curricula.
